You'd rather build it

You'd rather have it made

Questions answered

Choosing between Nightly and WordPress

  1. WordPress.com or WordPress.org?

This page compares WordPress.com, the hosted service. The WordPress software from WordPress.org is free, but you buy hosting elsewhere and look after it yourself.

  2. Is Nightly cheaper than WordPress.com?

No. WordPress.com Personal is $4 a month billed yearly for the first year, then $5, and there's a free plan with ads. Nightly's Launch is $25 a month (or $255 a year). Nightly costs more because the website is made for you, and seeing yours is free for 14 days.

  3. Can I keep my domain if I move from WordPress?

Your domain comes with you. If you bought it through WordPress.com, it's still yours: on Launch or Grow, change a few settings in WordPress.com and your Nightly website shows on it. Your project page says which settings, checks them and emails you when it's live. Your old pages aren't copied across: Nightly makes a new website from your answers about your business.
