The short answer

Build it yourself, or have it made

They solve different problems. Pick by how much you want to do yourself, and by what the site has to do.

Choose a builder

Wix, Squarespace or Durable

If you want several pages, an online shop or booking built in, or a domain included in the price, and you're happy to edit the site yourself. Each has an AI that drafts a site for you to finish in its editor.

Choose Nightly

A website, made for you

If one page is enough and you'd rather not build anything. You answer questions whenever suits. The page is built from your answers straight away, checked before you see it, and changed by asking.

What each one gives a one-person business

Prices are for the cheapest plan without the builder's own branding. US prices are before sales tax.

Honest about it

What Nightly doesn't do

If you need any of these today, one of the builders above will suit you better.

  • More than one page. Nightly makes one page for your business.
  • Selling you a domain. Live puts your page on a domain you already own; you buy and renew it where you like.
  • Bookings, payments or an online shop. One button goes to your own booking link or shop, or the page shows an inquiry form.
  • Editing it yourself. You ask for changes in plain words and the page is changed straight away: 1 round of changes on the preview, 4 a month on Live.

Questions answered

Choosing between them

Can't find yours? Ask Nightly, or email [email protected].

  1. Which is cheapest for a one-person business?

Not Nightly. Wix has a free plan, with Wix ads on every page, and the lowest US prices without the builder's branding on 21 October 2026 were Wix Light at $17 a month (billed yearly), Squarespace Basic at $19 a month (billed yearly) and Durable Launch at $22 a month (billed yearly). Nightly's Live is $49 a month (billed monthly, or $490 a year). All four put your site on your own web address. The builders also include a free domain on some plans; with Nightly you bring one you already own.

Nightly costs more than Wix Light and Squarespace Basic because it's made for you: you answer 8 questions, and the page is written, designed, checked 40 ways and reviewed before you see it, with changes made for you straight away. With a builder, you do the building. Seeing your Nightly page is free, on a private link, so you can judge the difference before you pay.

  2. Which one makes the website for me?

Nightly makes the whole page for you: you answer 8 questions or talk to an AI interviewer, and it's built straight away. Wix, Squarespace and Durable each have an AI that drafts a site, which you then finish and edit yourself in their editor.

  3. Can I use my own web address?

Yes, with all four, on their paid plans. With Nightly it's Live: type your domain on your project page, change the settings it shows you, step by step, where you bought it, and Nightly checks them and adds the padlock. Nightly doesn't sell domains, so you bring one you already own.

  4. Which has online booking?

Wix (on Core and above) and Durable (on Launch and Grow) include booking. Squarespace sells it separately, as Acuity Scheduling. Nightly isn't a booking system: its one button goes to your own booking link, or the page shows an inquiry form.
